I have ND 4.1.3 on Windows NT 4.0 and a Sybase ASE 11.9 on Solaris. I want to
configure ND4 to connect Sybase.
I installed jConnect 4.1 on NT and setup the environment variables:
JDBC_HOME=[jConnect installation path],
and add $JDBC_HOME to CLASSPATH, NETDYN_CLASSPATH, NETDYN_CUSTOM_CLASSPATH and PATH.
Then I tried to create Data Source in ND4 with "DSRdbmsService". When I select "SYBASE"
from "Database Server Type" and input the connect string, ND will search DLL
files
for Sybase. If I don't install Sybase Client software, the connection can not
be
established. (jConnect should not need the client software.)
If I select "ODBC" from "Database Server Type", ND4 will list all the System DSN
created within "ODBC Data Sources" of Control Panel.
In these two cases, ND4 does not use jConnect.
How can I make ND4 find and use jConnect to make the connection? Please give me advice.
