Title: udp forwarding
hello.

i'm new to this list, and also to iptables.
i added the next rule to iptables, to open up one machine (with internal IP 192.168.17.32) to the internet, but only on ports 5970-6000 and only for udp packets. 213.48.50.148 is the IP from our linux router stiem.xs4all.nl.

iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -i ppp0 -p udp  -j DNAT -d 213.48.50.148 --dport 5970:6000 --to 192.168.17.32

now i tried to test this using interarchy 4.1, but that doesn't let you specify the port when testing udp. is there any other way to test it? or does anyone see something obviously wrong with my rule?

also, i noticed that the rule that i added yesterday, was gone this morning... do i have to make any new rules 'active' in some kind of way? or is it enough by just adding it?

any help is very much appreciated.

robert
