Hi;

First of all, I'd like to say hello to everybody in this mailing list. I am a newbie
to linux and iptables.

Here is a problem I encounter while I am using iptables, and need your kind assistance
to solve it. Maybe it's not related to iptables, but I think all of your are guru on
linux network configuration, so ...

Two PCs in my house, they consist of one LAN (192.168.0.1 - linux, 192.168.0.2 -
windows). I set up one with RedHat Linux 7.2 installed and use ppp to connect to
internet.

To share the internet resource, I simply use:
-t nat -A POSTROUTING -o ppp0 -j MASQUERADE
as iptables' option to realize ip masquerade.

It works nearly perfect till one day I noticed I am not able to access newsgroup
(which uses port 119) and some special ports (like 5555 or 3333 or 6666, you know, I
am a zealot on some MUD game.)

what may be the root cause for this issue?

Please kindly help me to correct this problem.

thanks.

spartan chan
