Dear Members,
although it is very nice from Eduardo to provide rpm package, for those (like me) who dislike installing packgs without signature and not seeing source code and so on.. ;-)
The only modification which should be made for the standard RedHat source RPM is to modify the following line in iptables.spec to disable DEBUG as Harald Welte wrote to my question. Thanks him for the susgestion again.
Detailed description:
rpm -ivh iptables-1.2.5-1.src.rpm
cd /usr/src/redhat/SPECS
vi iptables.spec
modify the line : OPT="$RPM_OPT_FLAGS" ->(to) OPT="$RPM_OPT_FLAGS -DNDEBUG"
(exit)
rpm -bb iptables.spec
and install the rpm(s) from /usr/src/redhat/RPM/(eg)i386
