Hi

Windows 'networking' was never designed to traverse subnets. See their knowledgebase 
at technet.microsoft.com.

There is however some things you can do to make it work. Look in the MS kbase for 
stuff like 'file sharing across subnets'. You can 'fudge' the hosts (lmhosts) file to 
'see' the 
machines across subnets.

The reason that MS 'networking' does not work across subnets is because it is 
broadcast based. Routers do not forward broadcasts.
