Hi,

First, I apologize for my poor english !

I've installed iptables 1.2.4 and, since, my screen is flooded with all messages I've asked iptables to log. I don't understand why, as my syslog.conf is configured to write all stuff in files :

auth.*          /var/log/auth.log
authpriv.*      /var/log/authpriv.lo
cron.*          /var/log/cron.log
daemon.*        /var/log/daemon.log
kern.*          /var/log/kern.log
lpr.*           /var/log/lpr.log
mail.*          /var/log/mail.log
mark.*          /var/log/mark.log
news.*          /var/log/news.log
security.*      /var/log/security.lo
syslog.*        /var/log/syslog.log
user.*          /var/log/user.log
uucp.*          /var/log/uucp.log
local0.*        /var/log/local0.log
local1.*        /var/log/local1.log
local2.*        /var/log/local2.log
local3.*        /var/log/local3.log
local4.*        /var/log/local4.log
local5.*        /var/log/local5.log
local6.*        /var/log/local6.log
local7.*        /var/log/local7.log
I agree in advance : this syslog.conf is not very cute, but I've tried to find where each message goes to ! So , I find each message sent by ip_tables in kern.log (right), but also on my console and I do NOT want that...

Can anyone explain me why these messages are going to my screen ?
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Pierre
