1. No, you can't do it with IPtables. 2. Yes, you can do it with something like FreeS/WAN (and many people do). 3. However, if you want something simpler and easier, which still provides you with an encrypted tunnel, take a look at running PPP through an SSH link - it's a very simple idea which works well, and is pretty flexible about what you can shovel down the link. http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/mini/ppp-ssh If you've never tried setting up a VPN before, I can recommend this one as a lot easier than IPsec :-) and with the appropriate routing table entries at each end, almost as capable.
