Hello,

I just tried to configure masquerading on my linux 2.4.17 box
with help of the
    "Linux 2.4 NAT HOWTO
Rusty Russell, mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED]
    $Revision: 1.2 $ $Date: 2002/02/19 11:33:42 $ "

... and I failed.

The main problem with that howto is that it doesn't tell you
anything about the prerequesties, e.g.:
    - What kernel compile options are necessary?
    - What iptables version is necessary?

In chapter 4.1 the HOWTO says:
    modprobe iptable_nat
    iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o ppp0 -j MASQUERADE

For me, this leads to
iptables: No chain/target/match by that name

But the HOWTO doesn't tell you how to solve this... :-((
