Subject: RE: Survey - Legacy access to C2K Home Directory via EasyLink

Chris

A number of people in our school had problems after recent upgrades during half-term.  Although I was able to connect to my home folder from home I could not see any files or folders.  I followed the help instructions for updating web folders using the MS link.  This sorted the problem.

Subject: Survey - Legacy access to C2K Home Directory via EasyLink

Hello folks,

Tony Williams has voiced a problem that I am also experiencing, namely access to C2K Home Directory via EasyLink

( http://www.c2kni.net ) on Legacy workstations.

It would be very useful to know what establishments are/are not having similar problems. If there are establishments out there free of this problem, I for one would like to understand your setup and get some help to rectify  my/our problems.

At Mount Gilbert the EasyLink situation is this:

·         Email Service (Outlook Web Access) – full access.

·         Learning NI – full access.

·         School Access

o        Learning Resources – full access.

o        Home Directory - The directory appears to be accessed but no files or folders are visible or clickable.

Configuration

·         C2K – All Users are members of the EasyLinkX group.

·         Legacy

o        WIN98SE on all Connect 2.4 workstations and Stand Alone computers.

o        Proxy3 – I have also tried proxy2 without benefit.

o        Exceptions – intranet;10.71.129.17
I have also tried intranet;10.71.129.17;school.c2kni.net and no exceptions, all with no benefit. Am I missing an exception?

o        Browser

§         Workstations – IE5 (version 5.00.3314.2101) SP2 with Web Folders active.

§         Stand Alone – IE6 (version 6.0.2800.1106) SP1 128bit, latest cumulative security update installed, Web Folder active and Internet Options:Advanced:Security:Do not save encrypted pages to disk is checked.

If it turns out this is not a problem local to La Salle and Mount Gilbert then we will need to approach the dinosaur.

Looking forward to your feedback.

Chris.
