Hello, Below are 2 emails I've sent to MS trying to get NM 2.1 working on my home system. The crashing that I'm experiencing doesn't seem to get much discussion on the web so I'm at a bit of a loss what to do. A full description of the problem follows. Please help me if you can. Sincerely, Brian DuBoff ----------------------------------------------------- Hi, Yesterday I sent you the message below describing some of the problems I'm having with NM - I wanted to update you with some of the things I've done and how the problem has changed. 1. removed "CREEPY" true type font - checked for others on the bad HP Font list 2. disabled DirectSound with the NMSE. 3. unchecked Receive Video Automatically 4. disabled IP header compression in the Dial-Up Networking 5. closed all other items from the task manager before going online --->Now, I can make a connection that seems to work for 5-10 minutes then bogs down - 1st the audio cuts out - I can hear but can't be heard and turn on text chat - then my video stops and my image is frozen on the receiving end - finally CONF crashes and my NM session is over. I've ordered a mic headset with noise canceling technology, but don't think it'll solve all these problems. My connection is between 44000 and 46666. Please help me resolve this - it's driving me crazy (not to mention my 68 year old father whom I'm trying to chat with - his PII350/cable modem setup seems to be working fine). My NM at work (on a LAN w/o camera) works great so I'm familiar with setting it up. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Intel & NM software a few times with no changes. My system is a P233, Win98, 128 ram, ATI All in Wonder PCI video, Turtle Beach Montego sound & a Lucent 56k modem. My system runs fine other wise but the NM is driving me crazy! I'm using 2.1 (not 2.11)because it is the recommended version from Intel. Any and all suggestions would be helpful.
