Tony: This what 3Com States:

Why buy PCI?  then they present a table comparing Serial Port; Parallel Port, USB Port and PCI.

Full-motion frames per second, performance depends on video phone software installed:  Serial 10 frames per sec. USB 10 frames per sec. Parallel 10 frames per sec. and PCI 30 frames per sec.

Actually USB is faster than the parallel port due to the interface overhead, but USB can not be faster than PCI.

Is 3Com playing a words game depending on which one of their products one buys, I don't know that, but electronic architecture tells me that PCI interfaces are faster than USB ports.

Also, Available video bandwidth per second: USB lists at 1.5MB and PCI at 132 MB minimum using a Pentium at 133 MHz or higher.

Please check the wording on your product package and compare it word-by-word, who knows maybe we found something new in advertisement!

regards
