I am very interested in the recent discussions about multipoint conferencing. My main interest is to set up a way to "broadcast" the same video and sound source to more than one viewer/listener at once, WITHOUT the need for them to return either, and ideally WITHOUT them being able to share programs with me. I do not need to have any other facilities available. I can turn off my video and audio receive options. I know that it is possible to share a program with up to 31 others. When I have tried to share my video display this way, the others only receive the first frame of the video. It remains as a still picture. Does anyone know how to get this flowing? But do I need a huge bandwidth to send a video signal to more than one other person at once? Does my bandwidth get shared between each other person in the broadcast? This would explain to me why MS have not included this facility in NM, since it would be impractical for most people with an ordinary telephone line connection. Is there a publicly accessible server that will amplify my signal and so make it available to more than one other person? What attracted me to NetMeeting was that it is widely in use and free.
