In my experience it's unlikely to be down to the microphone. What do you
mean by "woolly"? If the audio is breaking up, that's unlikely to be because
of the microphone, but because of the Internet connection at your end or
your partner's end. If its fuzzy, try asking your partner to turn down
his/her microphone volume - it's quite likely that it's distortion. I've
never really had bad audio due to a poor microphone, but usually because of
the settings.

The Demon one is usually slow. Try using ils.netmeeting.co.uk instead - that
tends to be faster. Or better still, in view of your next question, use the
MSN Messenger instead - that bypasses all ILS servers and lets you call
people you know directly (they need to have the Messenger as well). You can
get the Messenger from http://messenger.msn.com/ .

Nope, there's nothing like that available at all - hence the recommendation
to use the Messenger instead.
