We either use Messenger or their IP Address when a 56K is involved
Messenger doesn't work at all with DSL connections.
I sent my ISP all the trace and test info [with the USA and UK] and your
comments [plus the threat to find another ISP] and have just received an
email from one of their systems engineers to contact him tomorrow, they
believe they can resolve the problem. Wouldn't that be great, an ISP doing
something for "Joe Public"
Thanks Brian

There was a problem with that router about a week or so ago, which kept us
off the Net for several hours. My IP Address in NetMeeting is always
194.154. x. x.
The funny thing is, I never have any problem with NetMeeting when connecting
to a 56K Modem.

And how do you connect now? If the test at ecollaboration.net indicates an
IP other than your local IP the usual implication is that NAT ( Network
Address Translation ) is happening -- the only IP it sees is the IP of the
router.
