Generally a camcorder/capture card will produce better visual results than a
webcam ( the lens and light handling capability is almost always better)-
the only negative is the camcorder tends to be bulky and heavy so finding a
physical placement that works is often a pain.

But any analog video capture card should work. Winnov ( www.winnov.com ) has
made solid medium priced products that traditionally have worked well -- it
might be useful to check out their products as well.
