Today we discussed the YANG Semver draft and what updates are needed to republish what we hope is the version for a final last call. We walked through T1-T10 and how they affect the YANG Semver draft: T3 - strip the "revision-label-scheme" concept out of YANG Semver T4 - revision-label: remove any abstract descriptions about "labels", just describe the specific new field (e.g. ysver:version or whatever we call it) T8 - the two recommended-mins should be mutually exclusive. Also see https://github.com/netmod-wg/yang-ver-dt/issues/218 We also spent a few minutes brainstorming what the new name of the extensions should be instead of revision-label and recommended-min: ysver:yang-semver? ysver:revision-semver? ysver:semver? <- confusion with standard ysver:version? ysver:label? <- avoid taking the abstract term? - in casual conversation people may drop the "ysver" (verbally and written) Import: ysver:recommended-min-yang-semver <- feels long & wordy ysver:recommended-min-semver ysver:recommended-min-version ysver:recommended-min-label The team didn't have a strong consensus on the name.
