The IESG has approved the following document: - 'An Update to YANG Module Names Registration' (draft-ietf-netmod-rfc6020-iana-update-02.txt) as Proposed Standard
This document is the product of the Network Modeling Working Group. The IESG contact persons are Mahesh Jethanandani and Mohamed Boucadair. A URL of this Internet-Draft is: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-netmod-rfc6020-iana-update/ Technical Summary This document amends the IANA guidance on the uniqueness of YANG module and submodule names. The document updates RFC 6020 to clarify how modules and their revisions are handled by IANA. Working Group Summary Was there anything in the WG process that is worth noting? For example, was there controversy about particular points or were there decisions where the consensus was particularly rough? No. The document is short and was split from rfc8407bis as it has normative text that the BCP could not carry. Document Quality Are there existing implementations of the protocol? Have a significant number of vendors indicated their plan to implement the specification? Are there any reviewers that merit special mention as having done a thorough review, e.g., one that resulted in important changes or a conclusion that the document had no substantive issues? If there was a MIB Doctor, Media Type, or other Expert Review, what was its course (briefly)? In the case of a Media Type Review, on what date was the request posted? N/A. Personnel The Document Shepherd for this document is Kent Watsen. The Responsible Area Director is Mahesh Jethanandani. IANA Note This document requests IANA to update the reference for the "YANG Module Names" registry under the "YANG Parameters" registry group [IANA-MOD-NAMES] to also list the RFC number that will be assigned to this document. This update is needed because the procedure in this document is authoritative for assigning names in that registry. _______________________________________________ netmod mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected]
