Hello! The following announcement is for immediate release: After six beta releases iPod2iTunes 1.7 has been finalised. iPod2iTunes is the only iPod utility which provides real synchronization of tracks and even playlists from any iPod to any Mac. Version 1.7 has the following changes compared to v1.5.1: + iPod2iTunes is now 2-16(!) times faster in determining of iPod tracks which are not on the Mac. Especially subsequent synchronizations are a lot faster. + Interface: + The status playlist shows now info during determining tracks, playlist synchronization and track copying. + Improved user guiding. + Lots of other small changes in the interface. + Playlist synchronization does now consider smart playlists on the iPod. Since it is not possible for iPod2iTunes to create smart playlists in iTunes, common playlists are created instead. + In addition to let iPod2iTunes create the folder structure "genre/artist/album" or "artist/album", it is now possible to create a flat "album"-only folder structure. + Support for Mac OS 10.2, 10.2.1, iPod firmware 1.2.1, 1.2.2 and iTunes 3.0.1. + Lots of other improvements. --- Requirements: Mac OS 10.1.2 up to 10.2.1 OS 9? Please use iPod Free File Sync for OS 9. iTunes 2.0.3 up to 3.0.1 iPod firmware 1.0 up to 1.2.2 --- Short Description: Synchronize and transfer tracks & playlists from your iPod to your Mac. --- Long Description: Within iTunes or the Finder it is not possible to transfer tracks or playlists from your iPod to your Mac(s). iPod2iTunes is the only utility which not just copies tracks but does real synchronization of tracks and even playlists from your iPod(s) to your Mac(s). The synchronization ensures that no duplicates are produced on the Mac as it is easily possible if files are copied from the iPod via other blind methods. Track transfer: iPod2iTunes shows first which of the iPod tracks are not on your Mac. Some or all of these tracks can then be transferred to the Mac. iPod2iTunes builds the folder structure for the files by the one of the following orders: - album - artist/album. - genre/artist/album. iPod2iTunes can merge the files seamlessly into the iTunes Music folder and does never overwrite anything in case different tracks have the same file name. Playlist transfer: Pod2iTunes can optionally synchronize the iPod playlists to iTunes. This creates the iPod playlists in iTunes with only those tracks which are really on the Mac (you don't get "dead tracks" if you haven't transferred all tracks from the iPod). This feature works also if you have used other methods in the past to transfer tracks. Track transfer history: iPod2iTunes creates for every session a date&time stamped playlist containing the tracks which were transferred to the Mac. This makes it easy to add those tracks to existing playlists or to create new ones from the just transferred tracks. --- Usage Scenarios: - Keeps tracks and playlists on different Mac's easily up to date. - Restores tracks & playlists from your iPod to your Mac after a hard disk failure or accident deletion of tracks. - iPod cloning (see "How to clone an iPod" in the Documentation folder). --- Links: Homepage: http://www.crispSofties.com/ Readme: http://www.crispSofties.com/i2i_x/index.html Application Icon: http://www.crispSofties.com/i2i_x/graphics/ipffx_app_icon.gif Download: http://www.crispSofties.com/i2i_x/ipod2itunes.sit --- License: iPod2iTunes is Shareware.
