New LightWorks Real-time for Macintosh Platform Easy-to-integrate interactive photorealism for Mac application developers!
SHEFFIELD, UK (22 July 2003) - LightWork Design, the world's leading supplier of rendering solutions for developers of advanced 3D computer graphics software, has announced a new version of its LightWorks Real-time product for the Macintosh platform.
LightWorks Real-time gives application developers easy access to high quality, hardware assisted rendering for increasing user productivity through: * Fast positioning of lights with real-time feedback * Interactive editing of materials * Accurate pre-visualization of final software rendered scenes * Interactive photorealism
The new version brings the benefits of LightWorks Real-time to the Mac community, and makes it possible for software developers to integrate high-quality, interactive rendering into their applications without having to become experts in using low-level hardware APIs.
"LightWorks Real-time produces significantly higher quality images at interactive rates by going beyond direct use of low-level hardware APIs," commented Woll Newall, Founder and Product Manager of LightWork Design. He continued, "Advanced multi-pass techniques enable LightWorks Real-time to support real-world light intensities, shadows with surface self-shadowing, visualization of procedural shaders and an unlimited number of lights. Adding LightWorks Real-time to an existing product based on the powerful API of LightWorks is very easy - just 3 function calls!"
Robert Bou, President of Ashlar added, "I've been watching LightWorks Real-time since it's introduction. This is exciting technology. Now with the release of Real-time for the Mac we can seriously evaluate its implementation into our products on both the Mac and Windows platforms."
LightWork Design has been a major long-term supporter of the Macintosh platform, supplying the rendering solution for leading Mac applications. The new release of LightWorks Real-time continues their track record of providing comprehensive rendering solutions for developers creating cool applications on the Mac.
