Dear list, I've read on the netsukuku website that netsukuku can be runned on a standard router (there are experiments on the linksys 54g, on top of openwrt, isn't it ?). Has anyone already built a netsukuku testing network using thoses wifi devices ? What about the performances ?
At trustnetalliance we have done some experiments on a ralink RT2880-based router. We modified the firmware to include wifi hotspot + vpn tunneling features and we are considering including a netsukuku node on it. As it has a 802.11n chipset, the ranges achieved might be superior to what we currently get on b/g networks. (actually I suppose we would need some 802.11s stack on the router ?) If some of you are interested by the trustnetalliance project, there is a website (in french, with some english here and here) : www.trustnetalliance.org . You need an invitation to access the website, here are some (ask for more if needed !) : NQIyXTVjbNsAiHBU UcGPQuQCWOdvwizY dovJvhOXMxRpUDmf mPijhjlNIbVjhgnM pVPXsJJAFVoEzubm FPADNGRnJqqOFtPd mQoqQnxtKYzMHEhL The hardware plateform we selected (we had contact with several oem/odm) may be suitable for netsukuku; as we are following the same goal, we definitely can find a way to cooperate! Basically it would mean : "build hotspots for the netsukuku network", i suppose. All best, Toor
