The architecture of Solaris' networking and drivers almost enforces a
particular development model. Other (open source) platforms have
a different model.
I'm curious if anyone else recognises this or sees it as a significant
advatange/disadvantage. Then again, maybe it is just lack of working
examples for Solaris to use as a base for development if the actual
difference in work is not that great.
Yes, I'm being particularly obtuse because I'd like people to share
their thoughts and experiences without any direct refernces for
comparison.
