I normally don't monitor this forum, but someone was kind enough to forward a couple of questions asked by Paul Durrant.

There doesn't seem to be an iSCSI discussion alias so I guess this one is the next best thing...

The iSCSI discussions are taking place on the storage-discuss alias.

Does anyone know if there's an iSCSI HBA interface in Solaris? By that I mean an interface for writing a driver that can leverage the existing iSCSI administrative interfaces but provides its own stack (e.g. via offload).

What you're looking for is iSCSI Management API (IMA) which was created by SNIA. IMA currently exists in Solaris Nevada and I believe it's also available in the S10 Update 2 release. The interfaces are currently private though. It's my understanding that IMA didn't really take off in the industry and therefore nobody was sure if it was truly required.
