snoop will certainly get me my answers but I would have to manually

what I used to do is to configure DHCP server to have no free
addresses, monitor /var/adm/messages, then add static addresses
whenever a JumpStart DHCP request comes in. unfortunately that
reserved IP doesn't appear in the log :(
I'm still not sure I get what you're exactly trying to accomplish, but
you can use ordinary shell redirection to get the daemon's debug mode
run with output logged into a file rather than a terminal. This
requires customization of the SMF service properties, but is possible.
