Dan, I'm a bit puzzled about the architecture of your system. Could you describe how the various parts are linked together?
For example, you mention that it is a load balancer 'driver' - do you really mean a kernel driver? When you say "getting these packets directly from the ring buffers", are those the ring buffers on the NIC or something within your software?
