For what it's worth, [email protected] is about networking in Open Solaris; it's not a support service for Solaris 10. Solaris 10 isn't Open Solaris. > How do I configure so that the source IP of a packet leaving is that > of the port it is leaving? You can't. This a fundamental feature of IP -- the system uses any available interface, based on the destination IP address. It doesn't consider the source address. This is a very frequently-asked question. The best answer might be to have someone in support add an SR (call record) to CRs 4173841, 4777670, and/or 4495010 for you. > eg How do I stop a packet leaving bge1 from using bge0's IP as the src > address ? You can "stop" it by using IP Filter to discard the packet, but that's unlikely to solve the problem you're facing. > >From previous setup I recall using something like the following in the > >hostname.bge* files: > interface-name netmask + broadcast - deprecate That looks mangled -- what's that stray "-" token in there? > With these params; when I reboot, I get "Failed to configure IPv4 > interface(s): bge0" > > >From what I recall the "- deprecate" option was used with IPMP? See ifconfig(1M). The correct keyword is "-deprecated" -- all one token (no embedded spaces), and with a "d" at the end. But I suspect that won't solve the problem you're facing. -- James Carlson, KISS Network <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sun Microsystems / 1 Network Drive 71.232W Vox +1 781 442 2084 MS UBUR02-212 / Burlington MA 01803-2757 42.496N Fax +1 781 442 1677 _______________________________________________ networking-discuss mailing list [email protected]
