Yes, the GLDv3 interfaces used by those integrated NIC drivers are not stable yet. But the usages of DMA buffers, timeout/cyclic, and DDI interfaces are common and stable enough. So I believe these drivers could be good references even for those unbundled drivers.

Any idea about providing better documents for this? Looks those external developers have not got enough document support all along. :-(
