Hi,
I am interested in the user expectation of icfg_get_if_list() function in
libinetcfg after the Clearview vanity naming project. Specifically, the
icfg_get_if_list() function is a API to get a list of interfaces. It can
take either ICFG_PLUMBED or ICFG_INSTALLED as the input argument, and I am
interested in the latter case:
After network vanity naming is implemented, when icfg_get_if_list() is
called with ICFG_INSTALLED, is user expect to get the list of network NIC
device name list as today or the list of link names (could be vanity names)?
Note that the latter will include other type of links, in particular, VLANs.
[ It seems that libinetcfg is consolidation private, and I didn't find any
user is using icfg_get_if_list() that takes the ICFG_INSTALLED argument, so
I assume there is no users right now. Is this assumption right? ]
Thanks
- Cathy
