Hi folks !
Some days agò, I installed a sparse-root exclusive-ip zone with no information
services. Then, I set up dns client service manually, cloning the
/etc/resolv.conf and /etc/nsswitch.conf from the global zone.
When I launched ping, it appeared to work except than for dns aliases (CNAMEs):
# host www.google.it
www.google.it is an alias for www.google.com.
www.google.com is an alias for www.l.google.com.
www.l.google.com has address 209.85.135.147
www.l.google.com has address 209.85.135.99
www.l.google.com has address 209.85.135.103
www.l.google.com has address 209.85.135.104
# ping www.google.it
unknown host www.google.it
# ping www.l.google.com
www.l.google.com is alive

I solved the problem putting in the nsswitch.conf of the zone:
...
hosts: files dns
ipnodes: files
...
instead of (as in the global zone):
....
hosts: files dns
ipnodes: files dns
...
Could someone explain the meaning of that ?

Thanks/g.s
