Network environment:
ADSL modem, a VoIP router behind it, and a D-Link wired router behind the VoIP
router, my machine connects to the D-Link wired router. In the VoIP router, I
set the DNS server of my ISP, and in D-link wired router, I enabled DNS relay
(Actually, I don't know what it is for, i just enabled it since it seems to be
neccessary;) ).

In both Fedora 9 and Windows Vista, the speed is acceptable, I didn't see
apparent delay after I typed a domain name(eg. www.sun.com). When I used
opensolaris 200805, the message: Looking up xxx.yyy.zzz keeps about 6~10
seconds and the ip of the domain was retrieved. I tried many method, such as,
disabling `nwam' and using `default', or modifying /etc/resolves.conf, nothing
helped. I though I didn't configure the dns client of the system in a correct
way, I am not an admin, I just a normal user, so could you please teach me a
simple way to make it work faster.

Thanks so much.
