sorry to be a pain: Solaris 10 is NOT OpenSolaris, but a product for which Sun offers support contracts. Asking for advice here will bypass the people who're paid to answer your questions and who have all the resources at hand to get you your answer in a timely fashion. Having said that: you need to provide a little more information: - what's the involved infrastructure (you're only describing the server, AFAICT). Give *precise* versions, as far as Solaris is concerned. - define "large file" - AFAIK (I may be wrong), Samba is now delivered with Solaris. What you describe sounds like you're using something else ... is that correct? if so, have you used the bundled Samba bits (or why not)? - you write "recently": what changes were made to the infrastructure before that happened the first time? collect that information and file a case with your local services organisation.
