Hi all,

I have OpenSolaris on my laptop and periodically, my router will need reset in
order to operate. I was running Ubuntu for several months after trying
OpenSolaris in the fall and as soon as I switched back to Ubuntu this spring,
my router went back to normal.

What would cause the router to not respond and only start working after a
reset? I haven't pulled the router's logs yet as it is with a friend's router.

When the problem occurs, I usually switch wireless networks (neighbors ...) and
after sometime, the network again becomes unresponsive. I'm wondering if I'm
crashing their network too and what can be done to configure OpenSolaris
properly to not cause problems.

I am using an HP DV9000 series with Intel 4965 WLAN a/b/g and the router I am
on is a Linksys, the neighbors is some sort of Belkin.

I am using network auto magic to automatically configure the connection (the
network applet). Another dumb question to ask is, if I go into the Gnome
System Manager and view the network activity, nothing shows up, I get a flat
line even when downloading a file. All devices appear to have a proper driver
as is indicated with the Device Driver utility.

I don't have a firewall configured so everything there is set to the defaults
that OpenSolaris ships with.

Any ideas what to look for?

Walter
