This is a invitation to all to participate in the Clearview IP Tunneling code-review. Please send any comments to [email protected] before August 12th.
Clearview IP Tunneling re-implements IP tunnels as GLDv3 links managed using dladm. This enables their observability with traditional link-layer observability tools such as Wireshark and snoop, allows GLDv3 features to apply to IP tunnels (e.g. link vanity naming), and more tightly integrates IP tunnels with other system features such as zones. This is also a simplification of the overall architecture and implementation of IP tunneling in OpenSolaris, providing more features than before with a significant net loss of code. As part of the zones integration of IP tunnels, this project also provides general framework enhancements for datalink administration in non-global zones. For example, dladm show-* commands now function from non-global zones. Documentation for the project is located below, and includes design documents, updates to the System Administration Guide, draft man pages, and pointers to PSARC cases covered by this work. http://www.opensolaris.org/os/project/clearview/iptun/ Information for this code review including a pointers to webrevs, a pointer to a code-review repo with cscope database, and a breakdown of the changes to each source code area is located here: http://www.opensolaris.org/os/project/clearview/iptun/cr/ Special thanks go out to Dan McDonald who volunteered his time to integrate IPsec support into the new iptun driver. -Seb _______________________________________________ networking-discuss mailing list [email protected]
