Folks,

There are two ways in which addresses can be assigned to a shared-ip zone.

(a) zonecfg: using physical=<yyy> & address=<numeric v4/v6 address or hosntame that resolves to an address>

(b) ifconfig: 'ifconfig bge0 -zone zone1'

Off the two methods, (a) is persistent while (b) is not. Further using (b) one can assign DHCP addresses or ADDRCONF addresses to shared-IP zone.

So what does it mean to assign a dynamic address to a shared-ip zone?
Is it a valid/supported configuration? Since it's not persistent, every time system and zone reboot, somebody must manually, apply these addresses to the zones.

thanks
