That certainly doesn't make sense. Other than the MAC address, there should be nothing visible to the DHCP server that would distinguish a VNIC from a VLAN. If that really does "fix" the problem, then it sounds like the original poster has discovered some sort of bug, though what it could be is unclear. Given that I *know* that Sun runs Solaris DHCP servers in its labs with many VLANs attached, there just has to be more to it.
