You'll probably need to specify _exactly_ and _in detail_ which Linux and/or Windows commands and features you're interested in if you want a coherent answer. (And it'd be good to know if you're interested in Solaris or OpenSolaris. If it's really the former, then this might not be the right list.) But the short answer is that a lot of different modes are supported in Solaris and OpenSolaris. There's 802.3ad support available via dladm(1M) aggregations. This includes active and passive LACP mode, and manual (non-LACP) configuration. There's IP-level "bonding" of a sort available with IPMP. See in.mpathd(1M), ifconfig(1M), and the Solaris System Administrator's Guide on docs.sun.com. There's also routing level support for multipathing that allows you to build robust networks using OSPF. I'd recommend at least reading through the networking section in the System Administrator's Guide. It provides a number of different scenarios and explains how to configure for each. -- James Carlson 42.703N 71.076W <[email protected]> _______________________________________________ networking-discuss mailing list [email protected]
