I don't know... the machine that our T5220 replaced (a SunFire 3500 I think) 
peaked out at about 10'000 interrupts per CPU.

Multi-threading adapters such as the nxge/Neptune NIO (or the similar 4*GigE 
adapter that Sun makes/made) should do this automatically, at least for IPv4 
TCP connections.  As I said, I don't know whether the e1000g supports this at 
all.
