I'm having an issue with file copies over CIFS to OpenSolaris. Basically
the behavior I am seeing is after a long period of writesto the server the
network device goes offline for a period of time and then the eventually
resumes activity.

Things I've looked at:

   - /var/adm/messages /var/log/ /var/svc/log locations for any errors,
   haven't found anything here
   - swapped intel network adapter for a broadcom and realtek adapter,
   behavior was the same
   - I've been informed to try fmadm faulty but I don't know where to start
with using that to test smb/server, would love any direction on this

Overview of setup,

Opensolaris 2009.06
intel p55 mainboard
core i5 processor
4gb ram
intel network adapter
3ware 9690sa controller (drives are exported to the OS as JBOD), using it
for its SAS SFF 8087 connector to a backplane

etc.

Installed SUNWsmbs & SUNWsmbkr packages, joined our active directory domain.

Created a zfs tank and file system that is shared via CIFS:

zfs create stank/storage/backups
zfs create -o casesensitivity=mixed -o nbmand=on -o sharesmb=name=Backups
stank/storage/backups
Thanks,

Chris Wilkerson
