Perhaps a better approach is to use Google to search the site, with

That sure sounds like a bug.  Getting a list of the kernel threads at
the time when this happens (with mdb -K and "::threadlist -v") might be
a useful first step.

No.  System configuration changes aren't dependent on whether cables are
plugged in or not.  If you encounter cases where they are, then they
should be reported as bugs.  (bugs.opensolaris.org or
defect.opensolaris.org)
