There is no any error message in the log. When I start ipfilter manually with "/var/svc/method/ipfilter start", it reprots "Warning: firewall properties are not available". But I reboot my server. The ipfilter is online.
I didn't change anything and only reboot my server, the ipfilter is ok. If the /etc/ipf/ipf.conf is missing or incorrect, I don't think the reboot will fix this issue. I find I am not the first one met this issue, others also reboot their box to fix this issue. But I don't find any detail for this issue. -Hejun > No, there is no need to reboot for ipfilter to take > effect. > > If the ipfilter service turn to maintenance, please > refer to > /var/svc/log/network-ipfilter:default.log for the > reason. > > A guess is your /etc/ipf/ipf.conf is missing or > incorrect. > > 2010/1/15 Hejun Xu <[email protected]>: > > Dear all, > > > > I tried to enable the firewall on my OpenSolaris > 0906. > > I followed the guide to do the belew step: > > > > $ svcadm enable network/ipfilter > > $ svccfg -s network/ipfilter:default setprop > firewall_config_default/policy = astring: allow > > $ svcadm refresh network/ipfilter > > > > but the ipfilter is always in maintenance stage. > > > > I had to reboot my system, then the ipfilter is > online. > > > > I don't know whether there is a bug. > > > > -Hejun > > -- > > This message posted from opensolaris.org > > > > -- > Best Regards > Zhou Xiang -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ networking-discuss mailing list [email protected]
