James, I know many other solutions how to decode the CDP packets (even tcpdump can decode it, or there are tools written only for this task like cdpr), and I agree wireshark is a decent packet analyzer. The reason I was asking specifically snoop is that it's part of Solaris, and many cases it's not that trivial to install (especially tools which requires root privileges) new/3rd party software on a production system.
