Some additional info that may be useful.
Some of the IB switches run the Subnet manager internally, by default.
This enables such switches to be deployed like an Ethernet switch,
without having to
run a software Subnet manager.
The most popular software subnet managers is Open SM (as far as I know).
This can currently run on Windows and Linux.
Thanks

So, just a heads up to anyone else that runs into this - InfiniBand is
relatively light on information.
To get infiniband working, you HAVE to have an application called Subnet
Manager running. We have deployed it on one of our Windows boxes that is
connected to the InfiniBand switch. Simply starting the Subnet Manager brings
everything to life. It's basically a control application for the entire
InfiniBand switch.
Not exactly sure why it is deployed like this (I figured - hey, it's a switch,
plug it in and it'll work) but it's definately something that I never new about.
Anyway, for anyone else out there that is new to InfiniBand - Make sure you
have Subnet Manager running on at least one of the systems connected to your
InfiniBand switch, or else nothing will work.
