Hi There,

I've written up a blog post about the issue here:

http://blogs.everycity.co.uk/alasdair/2010/06/broadcom-nics-dropping-out-on-solaris-10/

The following bug reports may be of interest:

http://bugs.opensolaris.org/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6940230
http://bugs.opensolaris.org/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6938878
http://bugs.opensolaris.org/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6926051

Unfortunately it doesn't look like there's a publicly available fix at present
and there's no word on whether the fix will be backported to snv134 for the
2010.?? release.

It seems Broadcom/Oracle have a version of the Broadcom driver at release 6.0.2
and the one on Broadcom's website is 5.2.2. I've contacted Broadcom support
asking if they can make 6.0.2 available but I seriously doubt they'll get back
to me - Broadcom want you to get support through your vendor. Despite us using
Solaris 10, Oracle have stopped selling support contracts for Solaris on Dell,
so we have no route to get support on this issue, which is highly frustrating.

Regards,

Alasdair
