WOW! This forum is dead huh! No help here, move on. Anyway, I will continue to talk to myself it seems... I was really starting to suspect the WD's or the Samsung's *which make up the main 14 disk array) for the issues...but I just put two 1TB Seagate 7200.11's in a stripe (=raid0) and I am seeing the same (if not worse) "gaps" in transmission via CIFS/Samba....hmmm. Something is strange here...very strange. I wonder what's "distracting" the system from the copying and causing the dips?
