Hello, First, thanks for your work on NM, it's a great application which makes the usage of wireless painless. I'm a french Gnome user, and I'd like to see a feature, that in my opinion, should be simple to add.
Sometimes, I have to deal with my own distribution's tool to connect: because it's static IP, or I'm at my university, which means that I have to use two WEP keys instead of one. So, sometimes, I just can't use NM and I connect using other way. The annoying fact is not that I don't use NM, it's the fact that all the other applications integrated with DBUS and NM (like epiphany, evolution, liferea, gajim...) are set in "Off-line" mode. And that is painfull, because, in fact, I'm connected. So why don't you add a simple checkbox "Simulate On-line Mode", in the NM Menu, which, via DBUS, send all the application the "connected" signal. It will very usefull, and in my case, will really avoid some problems with the application dealing with network. I hope my explanations are clear enough, otherwise, I will try again ;) What do you think about this feature ?
