Now it's back and at 44%. OK. Start with what kind of Linux computer it is. You seem to think it is NM that is causing the problem. Provide all the things that make you think so.
Start by turning off NM and turn on network. Use chkconfig as a root. Reboot and see if your Linux stops disconnecting.
