Here is another issue I found with nm-applet 0.7 (r118): nm-applet is autostarted on login. Whenever I login, nm-applet is not shown in the notification area. It's running though (as ps aux shows) and it also correctly passes the wpa credentials to NM. My gnome-panel takes quite some time to load (lots of applets and stuff). I get the "Connected to foo network" notification from nm-applet even before the notification-area applet has loaded.
My .xsession-errors shows: (gnome-panel:5070): Gtk-WARNING **: gtk_widget_size_allocate(): attempt to allocate widget with width -9 and height 24 ** Message: NM appeared (nm-applet:5085): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_ref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed (nm-applet:5085): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_unref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed (nm-applet:5085): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_ref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed (nm-applet:5085): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_unref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed (nm-applet:5085): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_ref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed (nm-applet:5085): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_unref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed Killing nm-applet in a running session and starting it manually, does correctly show it in the notification area. Cheers, Michael -- Why is it that all of the instruments seeking intelligent life in the universe are pointed away from Earth?
