I'm using fedora f12, and on that platform, you can't set DHCP_HOSTNAME through nm. I edit /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 and add: DHCP_HOSTNAME=myhostname I edit it carefully, to preserve the hard links.
