What version of ModemManager is this? And also, do you get more than one serial port, or just ttyUSB0? AFAIK the 885 is supported; Sierra devices will have at least 3 serial ports and one of those ports might be a CnS (proprietary Sierra protocol) port that won't respond to AT commands. So I'd expect ModemManager to try probing the other ports here. Is that all the debug output we get?
