here's what I just tried: 1) downloaded NetworkManager-0.8.1.tar.bz2 2) extracted it 3) ./configure --sysconfdir=/etc --localstatedir=/var --libdir=/usr/lib64 4) make and that seemed to work OK for me; did you just use './configure' or did you give it other options?
