My previous suggestion was to change it to the cua1. However...it could be you have an additional problem. Is your modem PCI or ISA based? If PCI, than you stand a good chance of it being a winmodem. However....If ISA and it seems that your modem is dectected than it could be that you have an irq conflict......What comport is your mouse on? If its cua0 and you have nothing connected to com2, than you should disable com2 in your bios. Are your modems settings changed via jumpers on the modem or is it PnP type. If via jumpers you need to verify what your modem is set at. IF its a PnP...Once you disable com2 in your bios, than you will need to boot into windows and let windows reset your modem first and than softboot back into linux. Hope I have been some help. > >
